Happy 10th Anniversary to Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience

Wednesday, Nov 09, 2022

Earlier this week, I was delighted to attend a special event celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience. Since the MPFI facility opened its doors on Florida Atlantic University’s Jupiter campus in 2012, our organizations have made great strides to establish unparalleled opportunities for the mutual benefit of FAU’s brightest minds and Max Planck’s leading scientists.

During the event, I had the honor of receiving a custom, handcrafted neuron sculpture to commemorate the longstanding partnership between FAU and MPFI. Additionally, I had the pleasure of bestowing President of the Max Planck Society, Dr. Martin Stratmann, with the FAU President’s Distinguished Service Medallion for his extraordinary service to the university and its community. Dr. Stratmann is an avid supporter of STEM education and innovation at FAU, and I am thankful for his unwavering commitment to training the next generation of highly skilled scientists.

Congratulations again to Dr. Stratmann and the Max Planck Florida Institute for all your incredible accomplishments throughout the past decade. FAU is proud to be included in MPFI’s esteemed legacy of neuroscience excellence and we look forward to carrying out another 10 years of groundbreaking progress together.
