Professional Learning Activities

PRAISE builds the capacity of teachers and leaders through purposeful, connected professional learning experiences that bridge research and classroom practice. Each activity within the project is designed to deepen instructional knowledge, strengthen collaboration, and support the continuous improvement of early learning instruction. From large-scale institutes to ongoing professional learning communities, PRAISE creates a dynamic network where educators learn with—and from—one another to enhance teaching quality and student readiness.

Summer Institutes

Each year begins with an immersive Summer Institute that brings together pre-kindergarten teachers, paraprofessionals, and school leaders to explore evidence-based instructional practices and early literacy development. Through hands-on sessions, shared reflection, and collaborative goal setting, participants build a common vision for supporting preschool English learners.

Inquiry Cycles

Throughout the school year, educators engage in School Readiness Professional Learning Communities (SR-PLCs) - structured cycles of inquiry that link professional learning to classroom practice. Teams analyze data, share instructional strategies, and reflect on implementation, all while strengthening collaboration across classrooms and schools.

Professional Learning Artifacts

The following resources showcase how professional learning in PRAISE evolves into actionable tools that educators can adapt, apply, and share to sustain growth across schools and districts.

(Artifacts TBD: Include downloadable PowerPoints, reflection tools, posters, and other materials developed through institutes and SR-PLC sessions.)

Through these interconnected learning experiences, PRAISE empowers educators and leaders to translate professional learning into meaningful classroom practice—building stronger instructional systems, deeper collaboration, and improved school readiness outcomes for all young learners.
