The M.Ed. in Elementary Education enhances knowledge and skills in elementary education, curriculum, and instruction. It is designed for students holding a bachelor’s degree in education or closely related field.

The M.Ed. in Secondary Education enhances knowledge and skills in secondary education, curriculum, and instruction. It is designed for students holding a bachelor’s degree in one of the following subject areas: art, biology, chemistry, English, mathematics, physics or social sciences.

The 36-credit programs are primarily online and prioritize flexibility and pace to meet individual student needs. Upon program completion, which includes student teaching, students will be eligible for Florida Professional Certification.

Students may pair this degree with one of our innovative certificate programs in Instructional Technology, Environmental Education, or Multicultural Education to maximize their graduate experience. Learn more about certificates here. (link to certificates page on department web site).

Our faculty hold terminal degrees (i.e., Doctoral–level), are highly respected in their field, and are well-connected within professional organizations. Our focus is on preparing highly qualified professional educators and personnel to work with all students.

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction (DCI) is home to master’s programs in: Curriculum and Instruction, Elementary Education with ESOL plus Certification, Elementary Education, Secondary Education with ESOL plus certification, Environmental Education, Reading Education, Educational Psychology, and Instructional Technology.
