Spring 2009 SG Election Vote starting at 12:00 AM on Tuesday, February 24 Vote through 11:59 PM on Thursday, February 26 On Tuesday, February 24 through Thursday, February 26 you, the students of Florida Atlantic University will have the opportunity to vote for your Student Government Executive Branch leaders for the 2009-2010 academic year during the Spring 2009 SG Election. The Student Body President and Vice President positions will be up for election this spring as well as the four (4) campus Governor positions as follows: 1 - Boca Raton Campus 1 - Broward Campuses 1 - Jupiter Campus 1 - Treasure Coast Campus There are also several legislative positions on the Spring ballot due to mid-year vacancies including Boca Raton and Broward House Representatives. Click here to view the eligible candidate list that will appear on the eBallot. All Student Body President and Vice President candidates must run on a ticket together. No students may run for either position independently of the other. Governors and House Representative candidates may join a ticket. Please be advised that tickets are NOT noted on the eBallot. One of the recent changes to the Student Government elections process is the implementation of an on-line election system. In preparing the ballots for the on-line election system, we needed to address the unique nature of the distributed campuses at Florida Atlantic University. Here is the criterion used to determine how you will be casting your vote. Criteria 1: All students currently registered and paying Activity and Service fees at Florida Atlantic University during the semester in which the election takes place shall be entitled to vote for the Student Body President and Student Body Vice President Ballot. Criteria 2: Students who are currently registered and paying Activity and Service fees at Florida Atlantic University during the semester in which the election takes place shall be entitled to vote for that Campus Governor only at the campus where they accrued a majority of their accumulative credit hours. Criteria 3: Students who are currently registered and paying Activities and Service fees and have a 50/50 split in their cumulative credit hour history at two FAU campuses will vote on the Boca Raton Campus Ballot. Criteria 4: Students who are taking distance learning courses and courses at the Pine Jog campus will vote on the Boca Raton Campus Ballot. Criteria 5: The Harbor Branch students will vote on the Treasure Coast Campus Ballot. Criteria 6: Dania Beach (SeaTech) campus, Ft. Lauderdale campus, and Davie campus will vote on the Broward Campuses Ballot. Criteria 7: Students who are taking classes at a non-FAU site (campus 99) will vote on the Boca Raton Campus Ballot. If you fall within Criteria 3, 4 & 7 and would like your vote designation reassigned to your preferred campus, please contact your SG Advisor by Thursday, February 26 at 5 pm. In the spirit of democracy, we strongly encourage all students to vote online on Tuesday, February 24 through Thursday, February 26, 2009. To vote, log into MyFAU at http://myfau.fau.edu (after the polls open at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24) and click on the "SG Election" tab. If you have not logged into MyFAU recently, please make sure that you are able to do so before Tuesday. If you have problems logging in please submit a ticket to the Online Computing Support Center at http://helpdesk.fau.edu. You will also be able vote in person at on-line polling stations each day that will be available at all FAU campuses, except Dania Beach and Harbor Branch campuses. Polling locations include: Boca Raton Campus 10 am - 4 pm at the South End of the Breezeway near Starbucks Coffee Davie Campus 10 am - 7 pm in the Computer Lounge in the Davie Student Union Downtown Ft.
