2025 Divisional Award Winner

The Division of Student Affairs, Military and Veteran Student Success is proud to celebrate David Alphonso, Ed.S., Assistant Director, as the recipient of the 2025 Division of Student Affairs, Staff Success Professional Development Award. Assistant Director Alphonso is recognized for his outstanding commitment, dedication, and holistic support innovations to over 760-military-connected students and their families, VA Federal work study students, and professional staff team members. David serves as a mission-critical, first-line leader of the Military and Veteran Student Success (MVSS) team. Assistant Director Alphonso was the first leader within our division to complete both of Florida Atlantic’s College of Business, Executive Education, Leadership Boot Camp programs: Effective Leadership and People Management. He then completed the first Emerging Leaders Institute. Further, he attained his second Master’s degree. Beyond resident learning, Assistant Director Alphonso proved that he can quickly and successfully apply his new knowledge, techniques, and leadership skills to dynamic challenges and success outcomes.
