ABI Director's Welcome

Dear Colleague,

Welcome to the website of the Anne Boykin Institute for the Advancement of Caring in Nursing (ABI)!

The Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing has a long-standing commitment to studying Caring and advancing Caring Science. In 2012, the ABI was created with the goal of becoming a global catalyst for promoting the universal visibility and significance of caring in nursing.  The foci of the ABI are to advance the mission of the college; to provide global leadership for nursing education, practice and research grounded in caring; and to promote the valuing of caring across disciplines.

We hope you find the many resources on this site helpful as you continue to engage in advancing the knowledge of nursing.  In addition to these resources, each summer the ABI hosts a Summer Academy where colleagues from around the world gather in dialogue about caring and to develop concrete actions for transformative change.  We hope you will consider joining us for these exciting and meaningful dialogues!

In caring,

Anne Boykin RN; PhD; HSGAHN and Marlaine Smith, RN; PhD; AHN-BC, HWNC-BC; HSGAHN, FAAN
