SoFlo Health on WPLG Local 10 showcased Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing’s Advanced Nursing Simulation Lab in Davie in an episode that aired September 7, 2025. Host Hunter Franqui toured the state-of-the-art facility and spoke with faculty, students and leadership about the lab and Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at the campus.
Dean Cameron Duncan noted that the lab provides students an opportunity to enhance their critical thinking and decision-making skills in a safe and risk-free environment. “Our students are prepared when they leave our program to work anywhere a nurse can be, whether it’s in a hospital or home health care setting,” he shared.
Dr. Andrea Archer, visiting assistant professor, explained that the new lab allows students to practice repetitive clinical procedures, such as administering IV’s, drawing blood and monitoring vital signs, before entering a hospital environment.
Eddie PierreJean, an Accelerated BSN student at the Davie campus, added that while the nursing program is rigorous and demands dedication and focus, it is intentionally designed to equip students with the knowledge and preparation needed to become the best nurses they can be.
The segment included demonstrations of nursing students and instructors responding to health emergencies with high-fidelity simulators. Assistant Professor Dr. Elizabeth Adenmosun explained how these scenarios help students apply what they’ve learned in real-life situations.
