PInning Ceremony Spring 2025

The Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing held its Spring 2025 Pinning Ceremony on May 2, celebrating the graduates’ successful completion of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. This tradition marks their transition into the next phase of their education or nursing careers.

The ceremony began with opening remarks from Dr. Michelle Broadbent, assistant dean for Undergraduate Programs, followed by Dean Cameron Duncan’s address to the graduates.

“This is a monumental phase in your lives, and I could not be more proud to share it with you,” he said. “Each of you has the potential to make a positive change in the world. This profession has never been for the weak, so when the going gets tough, find the strength to forge forward."

Graduate Alvin Jaimon and Visiting Instructor Dr. Sarah Snyder were selected by the graduates to speak at the event. Jaimon reflected on the meaning of the moment, noting that nursing is more than a career – it is a calling. He encouraged his fellow graduates to become the nurses that the patients and their families will love and appreciate.

“Congratulations, Class of 2025. It’s been the honor of my life to walk this path alongside you," Jaimon stated.

Dr. Snyder praised the students' growth and development during the BSN program and emphasized the college’s distinct focus on caring.

"While we’ve taught you many essential clinical skills, what sets you apart from other graduates is your deep understanding of what it means to truly care for someone—a moral concern for their well-being,” she shared.

The Pinning Ceremony also serves as an opportunity to recognize student achievement, with numerous awards presented in honor of academic excellence, leadership, service and compassionate care.
