Biography
Cameron Duncan is Dean of the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing and CEO of the FAU/Northwest Community Health Alliance Community Health Center. Prior to joining Florida Atlantic University, he served as the interim dean of the Orvis School of Nursing at the University of Nevada, Reno, where he led transformative initiatives that redefined the school’s mission and solidified its reputation as a leader in nursing education and health care services. His leadership drove efforts to strengthen academic programs, elevate teaching and research excellence through targeted mentorship and professional development, and foster a dynamic environment where faculty, staff, and students could excel.
Duncan brings a distinguished record of teaching excellence at both public and private institutions across Nevada, Arizona, Illinois, New York, and California. He has an extensive publication record, with numerous manuscripts featured in peer-reviewed journals, many of which he co-authored with his students. His research interests are particularly focused on the integration of mental health into primary care settings, advancing health care policy, advocating for the nursing profession, and addressing substance use disorders. He also is dually board certified as a psychiatric nurse practitioner and a family nurse practitioner and is also a certified nurse educator. Duncan previously served as an Advancing Academic Excellence for Deans Fellow with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing and was inducted as a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP) in 2023.
