The Master's Degree in Secondary Education plus Certification provides an opportunity for people to prepare for a new career in teaching and to earn a Master's degree. The program is designed for students who want to be excellent school teachers and who already have a bachelor's degree with credits in one of the following subject areas: art, biology, chemistry, English, mathematics, physics, or social sciences. Upon completion of this program, which includes student teaching, the student will be eligible for Florida professional certification in the certification area

The MASTER’S DEGREE in SECONDARY EDUCATION WITH ESOL PLUS CERTIFICATION prepares students for a career in teaching while earning a master’s degree. It is designed for students holding a bachelor’s degree in one of the following subject areas: art, biology, chemistry, English, mathematics, physics or social sciences. Upon program completion, including student teaching, the student will be eligible for Florida Professional Certification.

Admission Requirements
Application will require applicant to submit:
- Official transcripts including all undergraduate coursework and evidence of bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university (3.0 GPA required)
- Personal Statement outlining interest in the program
- Resume
- Two letters of recommendation that highlight the candidate's academic potential
- Any additional requirements for the degree for which you are applying that are listed on the application
After your application is completed, it will be forwarded to the Department of Curriculum & Instruction for a decision.
How to Apply
To be considered for admission into masters programs in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, applicants must complete a graduate application through the Graduate College.
