FAQ - International

We currently accept the following English proficiency exams . Please request scores directly from your testing center. Test scores are considered official only when they are sent directly to the Office of Admissions from the testing agency. Please note that test scores are valid for two years from the date of testing.

International first-time-in-college students, and students seeking to transfer with less than 60 transferable credit hours, are required to submit an official SAT, ACT, or CLT test score.

First-time-in-college international students must have their high school transcripts evaluated by a NACES-recognized agency with a course-by-course breakdown, exam results, and GPA calculations.

Transfer and second-degree students can either request a NACES-recognized evaluation (preferred) or request an Florida Atlantic internal evaluation (requiring a certified English translation).

Florida Atlantic University offers a limited number of international scholarships to students on F-1 or J-1 visas. These scholarships are competitive, and all eligible candidates are automatically considered upon admission to the University. 

To be considered for these international merit scholarships, students must submit a complete admissions application by these deadlines:

Fall :   January 15 (priority); March 15 (regular)
Spring :  August 15 (priority); October 15 (regular)

Once a student is admitted to Florida Atlantic University, they will work with the International Student Services (ISS) office on I-20 requirements.

Please note that  there is a 24-hour delay between paying the enrollment deposit and being able to submit a housing contract.
