Student Union eSports Arena

The FAU Student Union Esports Arena is the premier gaming center on the FAU Boca Raton campus. Our high-tech environment features 40 MSI gaming PCs boasting high-end hardware such as the RTX 2070 graphics card, over 40 of today’s most popular games, and wall monitors for spectators to follow the action. Each station is furnished with a full-desk mouse pad and comfortable gaming chair.

Looking for more gaming? The Arena also features tables for pool, ping pong, and board games, and 65-inch TV screens for console gaming!

Students may purchase rental access to the Arena’s PC gaming computers, Nintendo Switch consoles, or Xbox One through our payment website below. Our PS3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, Bring-Your-Own console stations, ping-pong tables, pool tables, and board games are FREE to use!

Esports Arena FAQs

  • What is the Esports Arena?

    The FAU Student Union Esports Arena is where you can play games to your heart's content. We offer a friendly space for both casual and competitive PC gaming, console gaming, tabletop gaming, ping pong, and pool.

  • What does the Esports Arena have to offer?

    We sell access to high-end equipment that is normally out of the price range of an average college student, as well as a place to hang out and form relationships with Owls that have similar interests as you do. We offer the ultimate college student gaming experience!

  • What do you have to pay for here?

    The gaming PCs and newer gaming consoles are the only things that you are required to pay for use. The console area is free to use if you bring your own consoles, as is the rental of our ping-pong equipment, billiards equipment, tabletop games, and older gaming consoles.

  • What console games do you offer?

    We have an Xbox One and multiple Nintendo Switch consoles that are pay-to-play, as well as a PS3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii console with a small library of games that are free-to-play. You may also bring your own consoles, console games, and controllers. We offer spacious areas with 65" TV monitors and seating for you to hang out and play. Bring-your-own console stations are free to use.

  • What PC games do you offer?

  • Why can't I play this PC game?

    If a PC game is not free-to-play, you must already own a copy of the game to play it on our computers. For example, you can buy a game on your Steam account, then play it on our computers. We are unable to have house licenses/free licenses for paid games at this time. However, over half of our game library is free-to-play. To save time, please have your platform’s login information ready prior to playing.

  • Do I have to use my gaming hours all at once?

    No. Although purchased time begins counting down once you log in to ggLeap, you are free to log in and out at any time. Your remaining time will be saved and purchased hours do not expire.

  • Can I request a game to be added?

    Yes! Submit any suggestions for new games to We add new games to the computers on a regular basis. Note that new games may take a few business days to be approved and installed.

  • Can I donate my items to the Esports Arena?

    Of course! You may bring in any games, controllers, or systems you may not use anymore.

  • Is the Arena open to the public?

    Currently, the Arena is exclusively open to FAU Students, Faculty, and Staff.

  • Can I host a tournament here?

    Yes. The Arena is open to hosting tournaments and other organized gaming events both big and small. Please submit a request through Owl Central to book your event, or contact Student Union Event Planning for further questions at / 561-297-3730. Depending on the size and extent of your production (audio/visual equipment, live-streaming, staff, etc.), fees may apply.

  • Is there an Esports Team/Club?

    Yes! The university now has official Esports teams for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Overwatch, and Rocket League. You may watch their matches at . Team tryouts take place a few times a year. There is also a Registered Student Organization called the FAU Esports Gaming Club. The FAU Student Union Esports Arena is not directly affiliated with the Esports RSO.

  • What happened to the restaurant that was here?

    This used to be the home of The Burrow Bar and Grill, and it has shut down. Please see other options on campus for dining locations

eSports Arena House Rules & Code of Conduct

  1. No food or drinks (plain bottled water is OK, as long as it is away from the computers).
  2. No cheating.
  3. No harassment or profanity of any kind will be tolerated.
  4. No damaging or tampering with any equipment inside the arena.
  5. External peripherals/equipment must be sanitized before use inside the Arena.
  6. Personal items must be kept under your gaming table/station. Bikes/scooters must be kept in the outdoor racks.
  7. Do not disturb other players, keep your voice and gaming sounds at a minimum.
  8. Limit your time at all gaming stations so that everyone gets a chance to play.
  9. For entry, acceptable levels of hygiene must be maintained.
  10. All players must adhere to the Esports Arena Code of Conduct (must log in with your email address to view)
