Chandan Kamilya, Ph.D., is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Florida Atlantic University, affiliated with the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science. At FAU, he conducts research in the laboratory of Professor Kate Carroll, focusing on the interface of organic synthesis and chemical biology. His work involves the design and synthesis of small molecules and chemical probes to study redox regulation in biological systems, with applications in drug discovery and therapeutic development.

Kamilya earned his doctorate in organocatalytic asymmetric synthesis from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal, India. He completed his master's degree in chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. His research interests span organic synthesis, catalysis, redox biology and medicinal chemistry.

Outside of research, he plays cricket and guitar, and enjoys listening to music and podcasts on science and philosophy. He is passionate about interdisciplinary research and its potential to drive innovation.
