LA Mentors

Our Learning Assistant (LA) Mentors are a distinguished group of experienced Learning Assistants who serve as leaders, collaborators, and champions of active learning across Florida Atlantic. Each Mentor has demonstrated exceptional skill in group pedagogy, a deep commitment to student success, and a dedication to elevating the Learning Assistant Program.
LA Mentors play a pivotal role in cultivating a thriving community of pedagogy, preparation and practice. They support new and continuing LAs through individualized coaching, facilitation of reflective conversations, classroom observations, and collaborative problem‑solving. With a grounding in evidence‑based teaching practices, they model how to create engaging, teamwork oriented, and student‑centered learning environments.
