The College of Medicine and FAU offer a number of cores and shared services to facilitate research across the university.

COM Shared Research Facilities

The College of Medicine provides specialized facilities that support a wide range of research needs for COM faculty, staff, and students. Use by non-COM researchers is considered on a case-by-case basis.

Cell Analytics Facility

Supports fluorescence- and impedance-based technologies to sort and evaluate properties of both fixed and living cells.

Genomics Facility

Provides RNA sequencing, miRNA-Seq, circRNA-Seq, AltSplicing-Seq, and other next-generation sequencing (NGS) approaches.

Histology Facility

Offers resources for histological research, quantitative imaging, and morphology studies.

Imaging Facility

Enables detection and analysis of nucleic acid and protein electrophoresis experiments.

iPSC / Disease Modeling Facility

Focuses on genome editing and differentiation of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) for disease modeling.

Molecular Facility

Provides tools for DNA/RNA quantitation, gene expression studies, RT-PCR, Q-PCR, and nucleic acid analysis.

Proteomics Facility

This facility contains equipment to support identification and characterization of proteins.

FAU Core Facilities

Florida Atlantic University offers additional core facilities and shared services that are accessible to investigators across the university.

FAU also has reciprocity agreements with The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation & Technology and the  Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience for access to their core facilities. FAU faculty can access these cores with equal priority and on a cost basis. Visit the FAU Cores page for more information.
