  • Support STEM
The National Science Foundation seeks scientists, engineers, and educators to join as a temporary, program director – called rotator. Rotators make recommendations about which proposals to fund, influence new directions in the fields of science, engineering, and education; support cutting-edge interdisciplinary research and mentor junior research members.

Rotators prime position is to collaborate with others and increase visibility while surveying the entire breadth of science, engineering and education in real time. In addition, temporary program directors retain ties to current institutions and return to it with new insights and experiences.

This rotator program director, Historically Black Colleges and Universities-Excellence in Research program within the Research and Capacity Section (RCC) in the Office of Integrative Activities under the Office of the Director, supports the development and enhancement of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics research capacity by helping individuals and teams develop abilities to perform research effectively, efficiently and in a sustainable manner.
