On Wednesday, Nov. 11, our nation will observe Veterans Day. No classes will be held on Wednesday, and most university offices will be closed. One day hardly seems like enough to honor the brave men and women who sacrifice so much to protect our rights and freedoms. While you enjoy the day off from work or school, I hope that you will take a moment to express your appreciation to the past or current service people in your life.

At FAU, we’ve made it a top priority to provide programs and services to encourage our veterans’ success as they return to civilian life. Earlier this year, FAU earned the 2020-2021 Military Friendly® School “Gold Designation,” based on the expanding services and spaces offered by our Military and Veterans Student Success Center. This is the ninth consecutive year FAU has appeared on the Military Friendly School® list. We’re very proud to be recognized for student retention, graduation, job placement and loan repayment rates for student veterans.

Thank you again to all of our military veterans, active service people, and military families, for your service to our nation. Happy Veterans Day!
