New Student Orientation
Welcome to Florida Atlantic University! As you begin your graduate journey, the Graduate College is here to provide the resources, guidance, and support you need to succeed. At Florida Atlantic, graduate students have opportunities to engage in innovative research, collaborate with distinguished faculty, and develop the knowledge and skills needed to achieve their academic and professional goals.
Online Orientation
Beginning Spring 2027, all newly admitted graduate students are required to complete the New Graduate Student Online Orientation during their first semester of enrollment.
Designed to help you successfully transition into graduate studies, the orientation provides essential information about university policies, academic expectations, campus resources, and services available to support your success at Florida Atlantic.
The orientation is fully online and self-paced, allowing you to complete it from anywhere, at a time that works best for you.
Orientation Requirements
All newly admitted graduate students must complete the online orientation by the end of their first semester of enrollment.
Students who do not complete the orientation within their first semester will have a registration hold placed on their student account, preventing registration for future courses until the orientation requirement is satisfied.
The registration hold will be removed once the orientation is successfully completed.
What to Expect
The interactive orientation features videos, informational modules, quizzes, and a completion survey covering important topics, including:
- Academic policies, degree requirements, and course registration
- Academic advising, research opportunities, and academic integrity
- University technology and online learning resources
- Student support services, wellness, and accessibility resources
- Financial aid, graduate funding opportunities, and tuition information
