The Philosophy Department at Florida Atlantic University offers a high quality Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy. Our program is consistently viewed as one of the best undergraduate philosophy programs in Florida's public university system.
The quality of the philosophy program at Florida Atlantic University is enhanced by the presence of an active research faculty that produces numerous professional publications and conference presentations, both at the national and the international level. The philosophy faculty also contributes significantly to the College's multi-disciplinary certificate programs, to the Master's in Liberal Studies program, and to the Ph.D. in Comparative Studies program.
The Philosophy Department offers a program of study with an emphasis in the liberal arts and, at the same time, prepares the student for various career opportunities. The intellectual training provided by the study of philosophy is an excellent preparation for the study of law, for the clergy, for public service professions, as well as for graduate study in philosophy and related disciplines.

As well, in addition to offering the traditional philosophy minor, the Philosophy Department now also offer a philosophy minor track in the Health Professions for students who wish to go into medicine or other health professions, and a philosophy minor track in Philosophy and the Arts for students majoring in any of the visual or performance arts.
