It’s Football…No, It’s Flu Season!

What things go together? Burgers & Fries, Chips & Salsa, and Football and Flu Season!
As we move into the Fall Semester, cases of the Flu will start to increase. The Flu spreads easily at this time as we are all together in class, our residence halls and apartments, and attending football games on Saturdays in Boca Raton!
This is the time of the year when we can take 5 minutes to protect ourselves from the Flu. Laura Lizardo, a Registered Nurse at Florida Atlantic’s Student Health Clinic, says, “It's quick and easy to get a Flu shot and protects you all year long from getting the Flu.”
A college campus is an ideal breeding ground for the Flu virus to spread rapidly. By getting vaccinated, you not only safeguard your own health but also contribute to the collective well-being of your peers, professors, and staff members.
The flu is infamous for knocking people off their feet, bringing on tough symptoms like fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, and exhaustion. For college students, falling ill with the flu can lead to missed classes, assignments, and exams, which can have a detrimental impact on academic performance.
