--------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- VA Enrollment Certification Request has been Accepted and is In Queue for Certification

This email is to notify you that your request has been reviewed & accepted and is in queue for processing for certification on a First In, First Out basis. There is no further action needed at this time. This does not mean your enrollment has been certified through our office yet. Please monitor your email for a notification from VA-ONCE.

Once certification is complete, you will receive an email from VA-ONCE indicating how many credits were certified & the respective term dates. Please note, our office reviews and certifies requests within 30 days the request has been successfully submitted.

FAQ's:

  • How will I know my certification request was processed and sent to the VA?
    • Once the certification of enrollment is processed by MVSSC (our office), you will receive a notification email from VA-ONCE noting the term date and credit hours certified. Note: You may receive multiple notifications if your classes are on various campuses and/or if the term dates for each course are different. Enrollment changes are sent to the VA as an Adjustment on the certification. All enrollment changes are reported to the VA for billing purposes and may affect your benefits (all applicable chapters). You will receive a second email if an adjustment is made for billing purposes or if you make any changes to your initial schedule.
  • When should I expect my request to be fully processed & certified?
    • Within 30 days. Each request that is successfully submitted is processed and certified within the allotted timeframe of 30 days, provided by VA guidelines. Note: Successfully submitted means the form was completed in its entirety and the required attachment(s), applicable to your selected education benefit, satisfy the requirements of the form.
  • What is the VA full-time credit hour requirement for undergraduate students?
    • FAU undergraduate students are required to take a minimum of 12 credit hours in the spring/fall semester to classify as a full-time student. However, also review the credit hour enrollment type (resident/distance learning) requirements for full-time in person education benefits rating, as well as for any financial purposes.
  • How does the VA calculate benefits for educational training for undergraduate students?
    • You can find how the VA calculates your benefits for education training using the link: Rate of Pursuit.
  • How does the VA calculate benefits for educational training for graduate students?
    • You can find how the VA calculates your benefits for education training using the link: Rate of Pursuit.
  • What happens if I change my schedule after I submit my VA Certification Request Form to the Student Military and Veteran Center?
    • Resubmit the VA Enrollment Certification Request Form, note enrollment changes, list the course credit hours as listed on your registration, or “WD-for Withdraw, DD-for Dropped, or CA-for Cancelled”, which ever apply.

Note: Add/Drop competed after the add/drop period may be subject to an overpayment from the institute if funds for the courses are returned to the VA.
