Commencement
*Fall 2020*

The Florida Board of Governors, which oversees the state university system, directed all state universities to cancel the traditional on-campus commencement ceremonies scheduled to take place in December.

While we won’t be able to host an in-person ceremony for you right now, it is important we recognize your accomplishments. To that end, we will Celebrate the Class of 2020 on Thursday, December 17 with a pre-recorded, on-demand virtual ceremony for each college.

The video ceremonies will be available for viewing at a time of your choice on a special website, along with student and faculty videos, a social media feed and more. Other highlights will be shared during a week-long social media campaign.

In the meantime, we encourage you to post photos and favorite FAU memories on social media, and use #FAUgrad, so we can celebrate together virtually.

Congratulations, Class of 2020!

Tickets

Guest Seating

Seating in the Carole and Barry Kaye Performing Arts Center is limited and admission to the Commencement Ceremony is by TICKET ONLY (graduates do not require a ticket). The number of guest tickets for each graduate is determined by the number of applications received by the Application for Degree deadline. Students who submit their Application for Degree and reply to the RSVP email confirming their attendance by the published deadline dates each semester can expect to receive approximately three to four tickets for their guests. As you invite family members and friends, please keep this seating limitation in mind. Graduation tickets will be issued online and can only be used for one point of entry.

Application for Degree deadline for Fall 2020 is September 11, 2020.

Additional Ticket Requests

Due to a limited seating venue we are unable to accommodate extra ticket requests.

The Registrar's Office does not endorse or facilitate the purchase of additional tickets.

Seating Accommodations for Guests

There is reserved seating on the ground floor of the auditorium for individuals with special needs, and for those who cannot access the second floor. These reserved seats are sectioned off and are assigned on a first come, first served basis. Please see the seating ushers for assistance.

Individuals who require reserved seating may be accompanied by one other guest. If your party wishes to be seated together on the ground floor, please arrive at least one hour prior to the start of ceremony so that ushers will be able to assist you in locating appropriate seating.

Infant and Child Ticket Policies

Infants and children 2 years  and younger will not require a ticket as long as they are sitting on an adult's lap. All other guests will need a ticket.

There will be an area set aside for stroller parking just outside the auditorium in case they travel in a stroller—the ushers will direct your family to the stroller parking area.
