I am pleased to share that Zach Kittley has been named Florida Atlantic’s new Hagerty Family Head Football Coach. Kittley signed his agreement Monday and will be officially introduced to the University community at a press conference on Friday.

Kittley joins Florida Atlantic with 12 years of Division I coaching experience, most recently as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Texas Tech since 2022. The team is currently ranked 10th nationally in total offense, ninth in passing and eighth in scoring. In 2021, he served in the same role at Western Kentucky, where his arrival produced a 115% increase in total yards, a 192% increase in touchdowns and a 171% increase in total points from the previous year.

Throughout his coaching career, Kittley’s offenses have earned multiple top-25 rankings, including six times in passing offense, five times in total offense, and four times in scoring offense. He is highly regarded for his ability to develop quarterbacks, including Patrick Mahomes II, Bailey Zappe and Davis Webb. Additionally, Kittley helped lead seven bowl-eligible teams with a 4-2 record and three straight wins from 2021 to 2023. Notably, his win in 2021 was the Boca Raton Bowl at FAU Stadium, where Western Kentucky bested Appalachian State 59-38.

Coach Kittley is incredibly impressive, and his authenticity, energy and family-oriented approach makes him an ideal fit for Florida Atlantic. I am excited to welcome him, his wife, Emily, and their family; and I look forward to his leadership of our football program.

Go Owls!
