Welcome, Coach Freeland!

I am excited to welcome LeAnn Freeland as the new head coach of Florida Atlantic’s women’s basketball program. A proven winner with an impressive track record, Coach Freeland has built championship-caliber teams and developed highly accomplished student-athletes both on and off the court. We look forward to seeing her bring that same dedication and success to Florida Atlantic.

Coach Freeland joins us after an outstanding tenure at Nova Southeastern University, where she led the Sharks to eight NCAA Tournament appearances, including four Elite Eights and one Final Four. Over the course of her coaching career, she also claimed 11 NCAA Tournament appearances, six conference championships and multiple Coach of the Year honors.

Coach Freeland is well known for her ability to build competitive programs, and her strong commitment to excellence will elevate our women’s basketball team to even greater heights. I know she will be a great role model for our student-athletes as they strive for success on and off the court.
