Softball Earns Second Consecutive AAC Title
Monday, May 05, 2025
Congratulations to the Florida Atlantic softball team on winning the American Athletic Conference regular-season title! The Owls cliched their second consecutive AAC title with two extraordinary double-header wins at Tulsa on Saturday. In the first game, sophomore shortstop
Kiley Channell
set the single-game program record with five hits. In the second game, junior pitcher Jaden Martinez pitched the third perfect game in program history — the team’s first since 2002 — for a 5-0 win over the Golden Hurricane.
The Owls are the No. 1 seed in the AAC Tournament, which will take place May 7-10 at USF Softball Stadium in Tampa. The team automatically advanced to the semifinal round and will play its first game on May 9 at 1 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPNU.
Under third-year head coach
Jordan Clark, the softball team has achieved remarkable success, highlighted by Florida Atlantic's first-ever AAC championship in any sport, its first back-to-back regular season titles since women's soccer in 2018 and 2019, and the program's 13th overall title — the most of any Florida Atlantic team.
Congratulations again to our players, Coach Clark and the softball staff on an outstanding season. And best of luck to the team in the AAC Tournament!
Go Owls!
