Florida Atlantic Receives Record Applications

Thursday, Apr 04, 2024

This is an exciting time to be an Owl, as Florida Atlantic continues to rise in the national rankings, receive accolades for its student success initiatives, increase research activity and make news for athletic excellence. Not surprisingly, more students than ever are interested in Florida Atlantic. In fact, we have received a record number of applications for the Fall 2024 semester.

The more than 46,000 first-year applications received represent a 27 percent increase over our final first-year pool of 36,700 in April 2023. Seventy percent of this year’s applicants are Floridians and 30 percent are from out-of-state.

The University also has improved its admitted student profile. Two years ago, the average GPA of applicants was 3.86 and the average ACT score was 23. Today, the average GPA of applicants is 3.95 and the average ACT score is 24.

We are thrilled so many prospective students are interested in attending Florida Atlantic in beautiful Boca Raton, as well as our other campuses in South Florida. As a first-choice university, we look forward to welcoming the very best and brightest students from our state and across the nation as we continue our upward trajectory.
