FAU’s Presidential Search Begins

Monday, Jan 23, 2023

Today, FAU Board of Trustees Chair Brad Levine announced that Florida Atlantic is ready to begin its search for the university’s eighth president. The Presidential Search Committee’s first meeting will be held Thursday, Jan. 26, at 8:30 a.m. in the Schmidt Family Complex for Academic and Athletic Excellence on the Boca Raton campus. The agenda for that meeting is now available on the FAU Presidential Search website, which will be updated as more information becomes available.

In addition, FAU’s Board of Trustees has selected AGB Search , a national search firm specializing in higher education leadership, to facilitate the search process. Founded by the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges in 2010, AGB Search has extensive experience recruiting for universities across the country.

As part of the Jan. 26 meeting, all search committee members will have the opportunity to address representatives of AGB Search and describe what they believe are the qualities and experience FAU needs in its next president. The presidential search process will continue until an appropriate candidate is selected.

In the near future, we will host community forums to provide an opportunity for students, faculty and staff to share their thoughts and expectations for FAU’s next president. More details about the community forums and updates on the search process will be provided as we move forward.
