Congrats to Men’s Basketball on a Winning Season
Thursday, Mar 20, 2025
The men’s basketball team’s season came to a close last night in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament at Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena. The Owls fought hard but ultimately fell to top-seeded Dayton by a score of 86-79.
Even though their journey ended last night, the Owls had a great season under the leadership of first-year head coach John Jakus. The team earned its seventh consecutive winning season and was ranked 15th nationally in bench points per game (30.2). Coach Jakus is a finalist for the Joe B. Hall Award, which is presented to the best first-year coach in Division I.
Thank you to the fans who supported the men’s basketball team this season, and congratulations again to the coaches and players for making it to the postseason for the fifth time since 2019.
Go Owls!
