Men’s Basketball Advances to Postseason

Congratulations to the Florida Atlantic men’s basketball team on advancing to postseason tournament play for the fourth consecutive season! The team received a berth in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) and will host Dayton in a first-round game on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena.
The team has had a great season under first-year head coach John Jakus, earning its seventh consecutive winning season. Coach Jakus is a finalist for the Joe B. Hall Award, which is presented to the best first-year coach in Division I. Additionally, several players received well-deserved American Athletic Conference accolades, including Matas Vokietaitis, who was named Freshman of the Year. Tre Carroll was recognized as Most Improved Player, received the Amir Abdur-Rahim Sportsmanship Award, and was named to the All-Conference Second Team. Baba Miller and Kaleb Glenn joined him on the Second Team.
The Florida Atlantic men’s basketball program has seen great success in recent years, earning five of its seven postseason appearances since 2019. The Owls advanced to the CollegeInsider.com Tournament in 2019, the College Basketball Invitational in 2022, and the NCAA Tournament in 2023 and 2024. The 2023 season culminated in the team’s unforgettable run to the Final Four.
