Tuesday, Oct 04, 2022

I am delighted to share that Florida Atlantic University and the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience have signed a new Memorandum of Understanding to create a dual-degree program in the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine. With this next step in our partnership, we are expanding the FAU-MPFI education and research continuum by establishing a joint M.D./Ph.D. neuroscience program.

As part of the MOU agreement, FAU and MPFI will work in collaboration to provide students with extensive training in both medicine and biomedical research with unique training elements specific to the medical neuroscience career path. Graduates of the program will receive a medical degree, as well as a doctorate in integrative biology with a concentration in either biomedical sciences or neuroscience.

I am very proud of all that FAU and MPFI have accomplished in this partnership so far, and very excited about this new degree program. The possibilities for our future M.D./Ph.D. students are enormous, and we look forward to providing them with collaborative, cutting-edge experiences that will enable them to open new doors for discovery.
