FAU's Leon Charney Diplomacy Program

I am delighted to share that Florida Atlantic University’s Leon Charney Diplomacy Program has finished first overall at the National Model United Nations diplomacy competition in New York City. Additionally, the program received two Outstanding Delegation awards and nine Best Delegate in Committee awards. Congratulations to the 54 FAU Owls who participated and placed in this rigorous competition!

Since established in 1996, the program has won 54 national and international awards for academic excellence, as well as four national titles. In November 2021, it earned first place in the Washington, D.C. competition, making FAU the first university in the competition’s 95-year history to win both the New York and Washington, D.C. competitions in the same academic year.

I’d like to thank the program’s administrators and supporters for their dedication to helping FAU’s delegates hone their diplomacy skills while working to solve our world’s most pressing challenges. It is heartening to know that Leon Charney’s vision for Peace, Justice & Human Rights is being carried out to its fullest potential. Once again, congratulations to our FAU delegates!
