FAU Board of Trustees Elects New Vice Chair

The FAU Board of Trustees recently elected Brent Burns as vice chair. FAU’s Board of Trustees is a 13-member group responsible for policy decisions appropriate to the university’s mission, implementation and maintenance of our high-quality education programs, the measurement of performance, the reporting of information, and the provision of input regarding state policy, budgeting and education standards.

A proud FAU alumnus, Brent joined the Board in January 2018. He is president and chief executive officer of JM Family Enterprises, Inc., a $17.7 billion automotive corporation ranked No. 20 on Forbes’ list of America’s Largest Private Companies. For the 22nd year, JM Family also is ranked among the 100 Best Companies to Work For. Brent’s community involvement includes serving on the board of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County.
