Owls Celebrate First NCAA Tournament Win

Congratulations to the men’s basketball team on adding another first to a historic season — its first-ever NCAA Tournament win! The Owls defeated Memphis 66-65 thanks to an exciting score by Nick Boyd with only 2.5 seconds remaining in the game.

The Owls will move on to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and will face No. 16 seed Fairleigh Dickinson University tomorrow at 7:45 p.m. in Columbus, Ohio. FDU advanced after defeating No. 1 seed Purdue in the first round. The winner of tomorrow’s game will move on to the Sweet 16.

As Coach Dusty May has said many times, each win is a group effort, and the team’s success is a result of our players working hard – and working together – to ensure victory. I have every confidence that this team can add another win to their historic season tomorrow. Good luck, and Go Owls!
