Honoring Outstanding FAU Alumni

Tonight, the FAU Alumni Association will host its annual Hall of Fame and Distinguished Alumni ceremony, which recognizes outstanding alumni from each college for their exceptional service to their profession and community.

During the event, two Hall of Fame inductees will be honored for their extraordinary achievements. Brittany Bowe ’10 is a three-time Olympic speedskater and two-time Olympic medalist who graduated from the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters. Nicole Cummings ’03 graduated from the College of Engineering and Computer Science and is the deputy program manager at Aerojet Rocketdyne. It is an honor to welcome these two remarkable Owls into the FAU Alumni Hall of Fame.

Florida Atlantic’s previous Hall of Fame inductees and Distinguished Alumni include a congressman, senator, NASA astronaut, Emmy-winning news anchor and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, as well as Broadway stars, business executives, scientists, artists, educators, healthcare professionals, engineers and more.

The 2023 Distinguished Alumni of the Colleges are:

  • Aryeh E. Lehrer, B.A. ’03, Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters
  • Kathryn Lewis, B.A. ’04, Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College
  • Kavin Ming, Ed.D. ’07, College of Education
  • Michael Reiter, B.A. ’88, College of Social Work and Criminal Justice
  • Ovini D. Rodrigo, M.D. ’19, Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine
