Who We Are and What We Do
At the Marcus Institute of Health, we diagnose and treat conditions—such as chronic pain, autoimmune disorders, metabolic dysfunction, and hormone imbalances—that negatively impact your quality of life. Many of our patients arrive after years of searching for answers, feeling dismissed, or being told that “everything looks normal,” even when they know something isn’t right.
Here, you’ll find a medical team that listens to you: your story, your symptoms, and your health goals. Your concerns are met with curiosity and compassion, not quick conclusions. Using advanced diagnostic tools, precision therapies, and a truly integrative approach, we uncover the root causes of illness to help you move from frustration to understanding—and from temporary relief to lasting wellness.
Who We Are
Launched in 2019 through a grant from The Marcus Foundation, the Marcus Institute of Integrative Health was created to blend scientific rigor with a deeply personalized, whole-person approach to care. This approach not only improves patient experiences—it improves outcomes.
Part of Florida Atlantic University's Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, the Institute has become a hub for advanced integrative medical treatment, research, and education under the leadership of Director Branson J. Collins, M.D., FAAMFM, ABAARM, a triple board-certified anesthesiologist, pain medicine specialist, and anti-aging physician.
Our team combines precision diagnostics, evidence-based therapies, and regenerative treatments to help patients achieve long-term wellness. Whether you visit us in Boca Raton or connect through telemedicine, you’ll receive the same personalized, world-class care.
Our Approach to Integrative Health
Integrative health takes a whole-person approach to care—focusing on your overall well-being, not just a set of symptoms or one diagnosis. It combines the best of conventional medical testing and intervention with proven, evidence-based complementary therapies designed to help you reach your personal wellness goals.
Integrative health recognizes that physical factors, emotional well-being, and lifestyle all play a role in how you feel. We focus on identifying and treating the root causes of illness rather than managing symptoms. Patients may also be familiar with the term “functional medicine,” though not every functional medicine practice follows the same rigorous standards of care.
At the Marcus Institute, your care may include advanced diagnostic testing, nutrition and hormone support, regenerative treatments, and mind-body strategies: all personalized to your unique biology and life circumstances. Every recommendation is grounded in science, delivered with compassion, and designed to help you achieve lasting health, not just temporary relief.
What to Expect as a Patient
Your experience at the Marcus Institute begins with a conversation, not a checklist.
Our providers take the time to listen, to ask questions, and to uncover what’s truly driving your symptoms. During your initial consultation, we’ll review your health history, explore your concerns, and begin to map out a plan that fits your body and your lifestyle.
Using advanced lab testing, genetic and metabolic testing, and state-of-the-art ultrasound imaging, we identify what’s driving your symptoms and create a personalized path forward. You’ll receive a personalized treatment plan that may include regenerative injections, hormone or metabolic optimization, nutritional guidance, or other precision therapies.
This integrative model bridges traditional and functional medicine to address a wide range of health concerns, such as:
- Hormone imbalances
- Chronic fatigue
- Injury recovery
- Autoimmune disease
- Post-traumatic stress disorder
- Toxin Exposures (Mold, Heavy Metals, etc)
Our goal is to help every patient move beyond symptom management toward lasting vitality.
Our Core Integrative Health Services
Our physicians offer a range of services to support your health journey, including:
- Integrative Medicine - Cutting-edge diagnostics combined with individualized treatment plans that address the complex interactions between your genetics, environment, and lifestyle. This approach helps restore your body’s natural balance and enhances your resilience—so you can feel and function at your best.
- Accelerated Healing - Advanced, image-guided regenerative treatments to help your body repair itself naturally. Using techniques such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) or exosome injections, we target injury and inflammation to speed recovery, reduce pain, and improve function.
- Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy (OMT) - A gentle, hands-on treatment that improves movement, relieves pain, and supports the body’s natural healing processes. OMT can benefit patients with back pain, migraines, TMJ, or tension-related disorders—without medication or needles.
- Metabolic Health - Comprehensive testing and treatment to optimize your metabolism, hormones, and energy levels. We identify issues disrupting your body’s balance—such as insulin resistance, inflammation, or thyroid changes—and help restore stability and vitality.
- Weight Loss Management - Science-based, personalized programs that go beyond calorie counting. By addressing metabolic, hormonal, and lifestyle factors, we help you achieve sustainable weight loss and improved overall health under physician supervision.
- Nutrition Counseling - Our nutrition experts create individualized plans that support healing, balance blood sugar, improve digestion, and help you feel your best—without extreme diets or guesswork.
- Wellness Classes - Community-based sessions designed to help you put integrative health into practice. Classes include topics such as meditation, movement, mindfulness, and healthy cooking, giving you practical tools to manage stress and support long-term wellbeing.
- Acupuncture - A time-tested therapy that uses fine, sterile needles to stimulate the body’s natural healing response. Acupuncture can reduce pain, ease anxiety, and improve sleep and digestion—often complementing other treatments as part of your integrated care plan.
What Makes Our Approach Unique
While many clinics focus on symptoms, we focus on systems: how your body’s interconnected systems work together to create health or imbalance.
Our unique approach combines:
- Precision diagnostics using advanced lab testing and ultrasound-guided imaging
- Integrative and regenerative therapies grounded in clinical evidence
- Specialized expertise in treating complex conditions such as chronic pain, chronic fatigue, autoimmune illness, and PTSD
- Ultrasound-guided stellate ganglion block (SGB) for trauma recovery
- Whole-person treatment planning that considers lifestyle, nutrition, stress, and mental well-being
This combination allows us to deliver care that’s scientifically rigorous, deeply personalized, and compassionately delivered.
Advancing Health Through Research and Community
As part of FAU’s Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, the Marcus Institute isn’t just a clinic; it’s a center for innovation, education, and community wellness.
We collaborate with researchers, clinicians, and community partners to study the science behind integrative health and translate that knowledge into better outcomes for patients across South Florida and beyond. Through classes, workshops, and community outreach programs, we’re helping individuals take charge of their health and live with greater energy, resilience, and purpose.
