Recruitment Process

The timeline will vary based on the recruitment volume for the University. Additional recruitment steps or approvals may be required.

  1. Create Job Requisition
    Hiring department creates a job requisition in Workday, and it is reviewed & approved by Recruitment Services.
  2. Advertise Job Vacancy
    Recruitment Services creates an advertisement posting and publishes the posting on the FAU Career Website.
  3. Screening of Applicant Pool
    Recruitment Services screens the pool per the minimum qualifications of the position.
  4. Releasing of Applicant Pool
    Recruitment Services releases the applicant pool to the hiring department and to the Office of Civil Rights and Title IX, if applicable.
  5. Application Review & Interview
    Hiring department reviews the applications and schedules interviews.
  6. Candidate Status in WD
    Hiring department updates candidate pool with interview & application status in Workday.
  7. Reference Checks
    Hiring department conducts reference checks and updates Workday with the results.
  8. Submit Hiring Review
    Once a candidate is identified, the hiring department submits a Hiring Review Offer to Recruitment Services in Workday.
  9. Hiring Review Approval
    Once the Hiring Review Offer is approved by Recruitment Services, the hiring department can make a verbal offer to the candidate.
  10. Verbal Offer Status
    The hiring department will update Workday confirming if the verbal offer was accepted.
  11. Hiring Department Requests Background Check
    The hiring department will submit a background check questionnaire in Workday.
  12. Review of Background Check Request
    Recruitment Services will review the questionnaire and order the appropriate background check.
  13. Background Check Application
    Candidate will receive an invitation to complete a background check form and provide consent electronically.
  14. Background Check Review by Recruitment Services
    Background Check results are reviewed by Recruitment Services to determine if more information is required or if BGC meets company standards.
  15. Background Check Additional Info
    Candidate may be contacted to provide more information on their Background Check (BGC), Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), or credit check.
  16. Offer Letter
    After the BGC is approved, hiring department may provide offer letter to candidate and collect acceptable signature from all parties.
  17. Hire & Compensation Submission
    Once offer letter is received, hiring department may submit a Hire & Compensation review in Workday.
  18. Hire & Compensation Approval
    Recruitment Services reviews and approves the Hire & Compensation request and confirms hiring details in Workday.
  19. Final Hiring Steps
    Recruitment Services finalizes the hiring steps and hiring department completes final disposition of candidates in Workday.
  20. Recruitment Process Complete
    Employee Receives Welcome to FAU Email & Onboarding Tasks in Workday.
