Domestic Violence is nationally recognized every year in October. This year at FAU, we are focusing on early warning signs and safety planning. Join us for an incredible week with a ton of education and fun. If you are looking for more information to get involved as a volunteer, host an event or more, please contact victimservices@fau.edu. Sometimes it can be difficult to understand what Domestic Violence is. This document can help provide information on what DV is and what to look out for.

This guide can help provide information on how to safety plan, how to safely escape a situation, creating a go-bag, and much more.

Victims of crime may be eligible. Withdrawal requests are for all classes and should be submitted during the semester for which the withdrawal is requested.

Most importantly, if you experience trauma related to sexual violence, FAU has resources to support you. The following are resources that are available for you on campus:

Victim Services

Provides assistance through criminal and university processes. Connects individuals to on and off campuses resources.

Dean of Students

Provides options to report, information on the student conduct process, and referrals.

FAU Police Department

Provides emergency services; offers options to report a crime, and referrals for off-campus evidence gathering.

Office of Civil Rights and Title IX

Provides resources and investigates allegations of discrimination and harassment.

Counseling and Psychological Services (confidential)

Offers counseling (individual and group), psychiatric services and referral coordination.

Student Health Services (confidential)

Offers STI testing, HPV vaccine, emergency contraception and pregnancy testing.
