Greetings from the Provost

kds

We appreciate your interest in the Office of the Provost and our work to advance academic excellence at Florida Atlantic. This site is a dynamic resource for faculty, academic leaders, and partners who share our commitment to our mission and impact. Whether you’re looking for guidance, exploring opportunities, or collaborating with us, you’ll find information and tools to support your work and strengthen your connection to the Florida Atlantic community.

The Office of the Provost is Florida Atlantic’s chief academic leadership center. We set the university’s academic direction and advance excellence in teaching, research, scholarship, and service across every college and campus in support of student achievement. We lead university wide academic strategy, strengthen academic quality and accountability, and align policies and resources with Florida Atlantic’s highest priorities. Through coordinated planning, assessment, and continuous improvement, we scale what works and remove barriers to success. In close partnership with President Hasner, faculty, deans, and academic leaders, and in strong collaboration with shared faculty governance, we uphold rigorous academic standards, advance faculty leadership in curriculum and research priorities, and ensure every college and campus contributes its distinctive strengths to a shared mission of student success and research excellence.

The Division of Academic Affairs includes Florida Atlantic’s 10 colleges that deliver more than 180 degree programs at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels to over 30,000 students. The division also encompasses related areas, including the Office of Undergraduate Studies, University Registrar, University Libraries, Office of Information Technology, Enrollment Management, and the Testing and Certification Center. Together, these units deliver outstanding programs to our students, faculty, and the community.

Florida Atlantic delivers programs across six campuses spanning more than 110 miles of Florida’s Atlantic coastline from Dania Beach (Broward County) to the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute (St. Lucie County). Our locations include Boca Raton and Jupiter in Palm Beach County, and Davie and Fort Lauderdale in Broward County. Boca Raton anchors our academic enterprise, hosting the largest concentration of students and programs. Together, Florida Atlantic’s campus network broadens access and amplifies impact, with each location uniquely positioned to advance student success, workforce alignment, and research excellence.

Florida Atlantic University is designated Carnegie R1: Very High Research Activity status and is recognized as a Carnegie Opportunity University, underscoring our commitment to access and excellence. We are proud to be one of only 21 universities nationwide to hold both distinctions. In addition, FAU is ranked among the Top 100 public universities by U.S. News & World Report, a testament to our growing national reputation.

Florida Atlantic is launching a bold new strategic plan as a university-wide blueprint that will build on our recent momentum. The plan will sharpen our priorities, accelerate innovation, and elevate excellence across teaching, research, and student success strengthening our position as a leading public research university. We’re excited to engage you in this work, because the most powerful vision for the future is one shaped by the people who will bring it to life.
