Happy Women’s History Month

Wednesday, Mar 01, 2023

March is Women’s History Month, a time to honor and appreciate the invaluable achievements and contributions made by women. To celebrate, Florida Atlantic is hosting several events across the University.

The theme for 2023 is “Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories” and was selected by the National Women’s History Alliance to recognize women who have shaped all forms of media and storytelling, including print, radio, TV and more. It also acknowledges the instrumental work of women in art and education who help expand our understanding of the human condition and strengthen our connections with one another.

Events across campuses include film festivals, workshops, brunches and more. On Friday, March 17, I will have the honor of speaking at the eighth annual FAU Women’s Leadership Institute on the Boca Raton campus. The event, which is co-sponsored by the Executive Business Program and the School of Social Work and Criminal Justice, will feature a panel discussion of FAU faculty, a networking reception and awards ceremony.

With appreciation for all women – at FAU and beyond – I encourage our community to attend and participate in the many special events taking place throughout the month. For more information about Women’s History Month events at FAU, visit www.fau.edu/newsdesk/articles/womens-history-month-2023.
