During this difficult time of learning and working remotely, FAU is offering several ways for our internal and external community to stay connected to the university.

Staying active is important for overall wellness — and sanity for many of us while in social isolation. FAU’s Campus Recreation & Fitness Center may be closed, but the staff is working to help you stay fit via Instagram, by posting ideas for exercises you can do from home, including circuits and stretches, as well as tips on how you can use household items — like your backpack — for strength-building exercises. You can follow FAU Campus Rec on Instagram at www.instagram.com/faucampusrec/ .

FAU Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute recently introduced “Behind the Science: Wednesday Web Chat,” which provides an opportunity to hear about some of the fascinating research taking place directly from one of our scientists. Attendees also have an opportunity to ask questions. Click here for more information or to register for the next web chat.

We also launched the “Let’s Stay in Touch” newsletter, an initiative to keep faculty, students and staff connected and aware of FAU news during this time. The newsletter is distributed each Friday via email and contains a mix of regular FAU stories, as well as items that have come to fruition as a result of the coronavirus situation.

As always, our dedicated COVID-19 website also provides tips and updates to help you stay informed.

Stay healthy, Owls!
