FAU Receives 2022 Innovation Award

I am delighted to share that Florida Atlantic University has received the 2022 Innovation Award from Encoura Eduventures of Research, a leading data science organization for higher education. Now in its sixth year, the Eduventures Awards program was established to honor institutions that pursue and uphold a shared vision for equitable and inclusive higher education through innovative means.

Based on criteria for enrollment, student experience and outcomes, this award was presented to FAU for our unique efforts in breaking down organizational barriers and enabling first-year students to progress toward timely completion of their degree programs. In recent years, FAU launched a strategic team-based analytics initiative that helps cross-functional teams assess and intervene with academic issues before a student has a chance to fall behind. Using predictive analytics, visual dashboards and enhanced data standards, the initiative has led to great improvements for the University and its students, especially in terms of academic progress.

I would like to thank all the teams and individuals who have been involved with FAU’s team-based analytics initiative since its inception. Receiving the 2022 Innovation Award is a testament to its success and we are so proud to be nationally recognized for this innovative effort. We look forward to expanding our impact across the University and will continue to explore new methods that help ensure success for all.
