FAU High No. 1 in Florida Across Every Reportable Assessment

On the 9th Grade FAST English Language Arts (FAST ELA) assessment, FAU High ranked No. 1 out of 948 Florida high schools, with 100% of students scoring in the top two achievement levels (four or five) and 89% earning a level five. FAU High also ranked No. 1 out of 824 Florida high schools in the 10th Grade FAST ELA, with 98% of students scoring levels four or five and 82% earning level five.
Because of FAU High’s accelerated curriculum and dual enrollment model, biology and geometry are the only end-of-course (EOC) assessments in which the school has reportable results, and it ranked No. 1 statewide in both. For the Biology 1 EOC for example, the school was No. 1 out of 1,156 Florida schools, with 100% of students scoring levels four or five and 98% earning level five.
FAU High also earned the top spot in writing, ranking No. 1 in Florida in mean raw scale score on Florida’s assessment for both grades evaluated. Ninth graders averaged a score of 10.3, more than three points above the state average of 6.6, while 10th graders averaged 10.2, compared with a state average of 6.8.
The Florida Department of Education does not publish school results in ranked order. FAU High’s top ranking is based on an analysis comparing the department’s publicly reported performance data across all eligible schools statewide. Based on mean scale score rankings, FAU High outperformed every high school in Florida.

While these rankings are certainly an important milestone, they represent something even more significant: a culture of high expectations, academic rigor and continuous improvement that prepares our students for success in college, careers and beyond.”
