FAU Celebrates Fall 2025 Graduates

Florida Atlantic University conferred nearly 3,000 degrees over the course of six commencement ceremonies today in the Carole and Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium, FAU Student Union, Boca Raton campus. The fall graduates joined more than 218,000 alumni who have graduated from FAU since the university opened its doors in 1964.
“We are proud to celebrate the Class of 2025 as they join the ranks of Florida Atlantic alumni, including this year’s commencement speakers, who are shaping the industries of tomorrow," said FAU President Adam Hasner. “As an Opportunity University, we prepare students to lead in a rapidly changing world, and our fall graduates are ready to make a difference in their careers and their communities.”
Highlights of the 2025 fall commencement include:
- 83 degree recipients over the age of 50, and eight are over the age of 16.
- The oldest graduate is 72 and the youngest is 18.
- Of the 2,994 graduates, 308 are first-generation students, 130 graduated with a 4.0 GPA, and 86 countries were represented.
Speakers during the 2025 commencement ceremonies were Brendan Cavanagh, president and CEO of S.B.A. Communications, FAU College of Business alumnus and member of the dean’s advisory board; Susan Ball, executive vice president and chief administrative officer of Cross Country Healthcare and alumna of FAU’s College of Business; Howard Lanier, distinguished alumnus of FAU’s College of Engineering and Computer Science and general manager of the B-21 Programs Division at Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems; Kirk Brown, CEO of Handy, Inc. and FAU College of Social Work & Criminal Justice alumnus; and Mikki McComb-Kobza, CEO and chief scientist of Ocean First Institute and distinguished alumna of FAU’s Charles E. Schmidt College of Science.
