Florida Atlantic University High School’s Tristan Etienne was recently chosen as a member of the 2026 ESPN West Palm Top 63, the outlet’s annual reveal of 63 standout basketball players in Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast, becoming the first FAU High player to ever earn a Top 63 achievement.
Etienne slotted No. 28 in the outlet’s annual rankings amongst boys’ high school basketball players. He also participated in the ESPN West Palm awards and red carpet show, which preceded the yearly Top 63 All-Star Game.
The 6-foot-2-inch sophomore small forward averaged 19.2 points and 11.8 rebounds per game this past season – up from 13.1 and 3.8, respectively, as a freshman. His rebounding average this year ranked 25th in the state, and his 19 double-doubles (in just 22 games played) tied for first among all Florida high school players. He also posted his first career triple-double – 15 points, 10 rebounds and 10 blocked shots – in a December matchup against Spanish River High School.
“Last summer, I focused on sharpening my skills and building my confidence so I could step into a bigger role for our team,” said Etienne. “With the seniors gone, Coach Carr challenged me to become more of a leader and to handle the ball more, creating my own shots and making plays. That shift in responsibility has helped me grow into a more impactful player for FAU High.”
In addition to this ESPN West Palm accolade, Etienne also received two other honors following the season: he was named by the Sun Sentinel to the Palm Beach 4A-1A boys’ basketball second team, and by the Palm Beach Post to its All-County honorable mention team.
“Tristan took a big step from his freshman year,” said Nicholas Carr, FAU High head boy’s basketball coach. “He is progressing and should continue to grow into an even more impactful player.”
