Integrative and Functional Medicine
Evidence-Based Treatment for Whole-Person Wellness
When conventional treatments haven't provided lasting relief, our integrative approach addresses the root causes of your health challenges. At FAU’s Marcus Institute of Integrative Health, we combine cutting-edge medical interventions with evidence-based complementary therapies to restore your optimal wellness.
Our Approach to Integrative and Functional Medicine
Healthcare should treat more than symptoms—it should address the whole person. Our integrative medicine approach examines every factor that influences your health, from chronic inflammation and stress management to lifestyle medicine and nutritional wellness.
We partner with you in the healing process, creating personalized treatment plans that combine conventional medical care with proven complementary therapies. This holistic yet rigorous, evidence-based approach ensures you receive comprehensive healthcare that targets the underlying causes of disease while supporting your body's natural healing processes.
We are not a primary care practice—we partner closely with your PCP and specialists to keep your care cohesive. At our practice, we take a functional medicine approach, looking at how all your body’s systems work together. We take an in-depth look at your medical history, lifestyle factors, and unique health challenges to develop interventions that promote lasting well-being.
Symptoms We Treat
Our integrative approach addresses a wide range of chronic diseases and medical conditions that typically go overlooked or undertreated. We listen. If you’ve felt dismissed or ignored by other providers, we’ll dig deeper to understand the root causes of your symptoms and build from your lived experience.

Advanced Diagnostic Testing & Lab Work
Accurate diagnosis is the foundation of effective treatment. Our comprehensive diagnostic approach includes:
Ultrasound Diagnostic Testing
We use non-invasive diagnostic ultrasound to visualize soft tissues, joints, and nerves to identify the exact source of your pain or dysfunction. This precise imaging helps us develop targeted treatment plans that address causes, not just symptoms.
Comprehensive Lab Analysis
We coordinate with specialized diagnostic laboratories to provide thorough testing that reveals the underlying causes of your health challenges. Our advanced testing goes beyond standard primary care lab work to uncover nutritional deficiencies, hormonal imbalances, and inflammatory markers.
Personalized Assessment
Your first visit (about 60–90 minutes) includes an in-depth evaluation, targeted physical exam, and review of prior records. We map your medical history, goals, lifestyle factors, and stressors, then outline a stepwise plan. If labs or imaging are needed, we order them up front so we can move quickly from discovery to treatment.
Integrative Health Services and Treatments
Our evidence-based treatments combine the latest advances in regenerative medicine with proven integrative approaches.
Integrative Medicine Services
Peptide Therapy: This treatment, which uses customized amino acid chains that support immune function, hormone regulation, and tissue repair, is tailored to your individual wellness needs and longevity goals.
IM NAD (Intramuscular NAD): This delivers a vital cellular coenzyme directly to boost energy production, enhance mental clarity, and support anti-aging processes at the cellular level.
IV Therapy Treatment: This personalized intravenous treatment delivers essential nutrients, vitamins, and therapeutic compounds directly into your system for optimal absorption.
Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT): We use hands-on techniques to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal dysfunction to restore proper movement and function throughout your body.
Acupuncture: We use acupuncture to stimulate the body's natural healing mechanisms and support pain management, relaxation, and overall wellness.
Advanced Pain Management Interventions
Ultrasound-Guided Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB): This minimally invasive procedure targets sympathetic nerves to provide relief from chronic pain, PTSD, and traumatic brain injury symptoms by calming overactive stress responses.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP): This treatment harnesses your body's natural healing factors by concentrating platelets from your blood to promote tissue repair in joints, tendons, and ligaments.
Alpha-2-Macroglobulin (A2M) Therapy: This is an orthobiologic protease inhibitor that binds tissue-breaking enzymes and helps calm inflammation—often considered for joint osteoarthritis and spine-related degeneration, especially when PRP alone isn’t sufficient.
Exosomes (PPX Therapy): This is an autologous, extracellular-vesicle–based approach using your own blood to obtain signaling vesicles that support healing in connective tissues. This is offered on a case-by-case basis, based on suitability and current availability.
Prolotherapy: This stimulates your body's natural healing response through targeted injections that strengthen weakened ligaments, tendons, and surrounding tissues.
All our ultrasound-guided injections ensure precise delivery of treatments to target areas, maximizing effectiveness while minimizing discomfort.
