Find Your "Third Place" for Wellness
True health is more than just the absence of disease—it’s the presence of vitality, connection, and joy. Yet, many people navigating chronic pain, limited mobility, or recovery from sports injuries find traditional fitness environments intimidating or unsuited to their specific needs.
The Marcus Institute of Integrative Health can be a bridge between clinical care and your daily life. We aren't just a medical facility; we’re a community hub dedicated to your overall health. Our all-levels, all-access classes are designed to foster community, promote longevity, and provide safe, effective movement strategies for everyone: from active individuals to those with chronic conditions or limited mobility.
Why Choose Integrative Movement at Marcus Institute?
Our training programs are distinct from a standard gym experience. We focus on sustainable, long-term wellness practices that you can carry with you for life.
Led by Experts
Our classes are led by certified fitness professionals, integrative movement specialists, and local community experts who understand the nuances of the human body.
A Collaborative Approach to Care
Our wellness programming works hand in hand with our clinical services. Whether you’re seeing a physical therapist, a chiropractor, or one of our physicians, our classes complement your treatment plan to create a comprehensive wellness lifestyle.
Accessible to Everyone
We believe well-being should be accessible to all. Unlike many studios, our classes are designed for every body, offering modifications for specific needs, including options for chair-bound participants.
Community Equals Longevity
Research from "Blue Zones" shows that a sense of belonging is a fundamental pillar of longevity. Our classes provide a supportive space to connect with others, combat feelings of isolation, and improve your physical health.
What is Integrative Movement?
Integrative movement is a holistic approach that connects the mind and body, recognizing that true fitness is about how the body functions as a whole system.
By applying principles of movement science and biomechanics, we move beyond traditional gym workouts to focus on functional training. This approach helps address dysfunction and imbalances that often lead to pain. Through corrective exercises and functional movement patterns, we help you build a foundation that supports daily activities, whether that involves single-leg balance for fall prevention or improving posture.
Types of Classes We Host
We offer a diverse calendar of mostly free classes designed to give you a taste of different modalities so you can build sustainable practices in your own life.
Mindful Movement
Our Tai Chi and Qi Gong series act as "meditation in motion." These classes help regulate the nervous system, improve balance, and promote serenity through gentle, flowing movements.
Strength & Structure
Build core strength and improve alignment with Pilates and other Fit-Fusion strength-focused group sessions. These classes emphasize stability and body awareness to support a healthy spine.
Flexibility & Flow
Our movement and mobility classes utilize dynamic stretching to increase your range of motion, reduce stiffness, and minimize the risk of injury.
Nutrition & Mindfulness
Join us in the Learning Kitchen for our "Renew & Rebalance" or "Nourish the Change" series. These workshops demystify nutrition, focusing on gut health and hormone regulation (including menopause education) to support your overall health.
Mental & Emotional Wellness
Reduce stress and find calm with offerings like breathwork, meditation, and art for wellness. These sessions provide practical tools to manage stress and enhance mental clarity.
