Biology with a Minor in Spanish Literature
Destiny Twohill graduated as valedictorian of her class at Berean Christian School. As a high school senior, Destiny attended the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College summer MERGE program, centered on the interaction between science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) and the liberal arts. Destiny explains that the program allowed her to experience the unique educational opportunities available at the Wilkes Honors College, including hands-on interactive sessions led by members of the faculty. Destiny’s MERGE experience led to her decision to apply to the Wilkes Honors College where she is now pursuing a concentration in Biology, with a minor in Spanish Literature. Destiny’s involvement campus includes serving as Vice President of the MacArthur Residential Student Association, a student ambassador for the Admissions Office, and an Orientation and Welcome Leader (OWL). In addition, Destiny works on campus as a Biology Lab teaching assistant (TA). She is passionate about community involvement, interning at Quantum House, and volunteering with the Students Advocating Volunteer Involvement (SAVI). As a Flagler Scholar, Destiny has presented her research on the social dimensions of sustainability at the Florida Collegiate Honors Council, studied abroad in Spain, and participated in an Outward-Bound experience. Destiny aspires to become a physician assistant and plans to attend PA school after graduation.
