The Global Travel Safety & Secuirty Committee (GTSSC) is appointed and supported by the Department of Emergency Management (DEM) and provides independent review and risk assessments for proposed international travel—particularly to destinations identified by the U.S. Department of State as Level 3 or Level 4, and to countries designated as a Foreign County of Concern. The GTSSC evaluates safety conditions, risk mitigation plans, and traveler preparedness to advise DEM and University leadership. Based on the destination’s risk level, GTSSC issues recommendations to the relevant Division Vice President or the Executive Leadership Team through the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. The GTSSC is made up of:

· Associate Provost, Office of Information Technology

· Faculty Representative- Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs
· Deputy General Counsel (ex-officio)
· Assistant General Counsel & Export Control Officer
