Florida Atlantic Excellence in Online Teaching Award

This award recognizes an oustanding faculty member who demonstrates exemplary and innovative online teaching practices.

The selected faculty member will receive the Florida Atlantic Excellence in Online Teaching Award Badge and a $2,500 stipend.

Florida Atlantic Excellence in Online Teaching Award General Application Process

Review the Florida Atlantic Excellence in Online Teaching Awards requirements for award consideration listed below:

Prerequisite for application

The prerequisite for consideration is a course(s), which has/have been reviewed by a Quality Matters reviewer and successfully met the Florida High Quality Standards as defined by the Florida Online Course Design Quality Designations.

If you have the above prerequisite:

  1. Submit your application for Florida Atlantic Excellence in Online Teaching Award by completing the Excellence in Online Teaching Award Application Form by November 20, 2026. (This is just an application form. Nothing needs to be submitted at this time).
  2. Once we receive your application, you will:
    1. Receive access to the Nominees Page for more specific information on submitting the requirements for consideration for this award.
    2. Receive access to a Canvas course on November 20, where you will submit these requirements by January 15, 2027, (late submissions will not be accepted)
  3. The Review Committee will make their selection.
  4. The winner will be announced.
Florida Atlantic Online Faculty Award Badge

Requirements for consideration for the award, due January 15, 2027

  1. Artifacts demonstrating your exemplary online instructional delivery practice. (Submit your application to receive details about these artifacts)
  2. Teaching practices, rather than course design, should be highlighted
  3. Narrative describing your trajectory towards exemplary online teaching practice. (Submit your application to receive details about the narrative)
  4. Short CV
  5. Letter of support from Dean/Chair
  6. Additional letter of support from a Dean, Chair or colleague

These requirements will be submitted via Canvas assignments beginning November 20, 2026 and will be due January 15, 2027.
