The ceremonies will be held on Thursday, December 13th at 9am, 1pm and 5pm and Friday, December 14th at 9am and 1pm. Degree candidates should report to the Live Oak Pavilion one hour before the beginning of the ceremony.

For the safety and security of all graduates and their guests, mandatory security screening with metal detectors will occur at all ceremonies. All bags and personal belongings will be inspected upon entering the Student Union. As such, please bring only essential items to the graduation ceremony. Plan your arrival to ensure adequate time to go through security.


  • Graduates will receive an email invitation in their FAU mail account the week of October 8, 2018.

  • Graduates must RSVP to the Registrar's Office by October 28, 2018 if they intend to participate in the ceremony

  • Everyone should reply to the email whether or not they plan to attend the ceremony.

The Commencement Ceremony will last approximately two hours. In order to maintain an orderly and dignified ceremony, one that you and your fellow classmates will want to remember, all graduates and their guests are expected to be present for the entire ceremony. As you make your decision concerning your attendance at Commencement, please keep this in mind.
